Absolutely Waterproof LED Strips with Multi-Layer Potting Process

To operate linear LED lighting systems safely and reliably in wet rooms, damp areas, outdoor spaces, and especially underwater, a minimum protection rating of IP67 must be ensured.

This absolute waterproofing is achieved through the full potting of the LED aluminum profiles with resin (PUR – polyurethane). In a unique process, liquid two-component PUR is precisely applied in six layers directly into the profile (for colored versions, 3-component PUR – e.g., opal). The multi-layer application of the heated resin prevents air bubbles, inclusions, and cracks.

The resin covers the LED flex strip, the connection cables, and the entire interior of the profile, finishing flush with the top and side edges. The linear LED module is now sealed and completely waterproof. Additional benefits include protection of the LED chips and electronics, as well as reduction of mechanical stress on the aluminum profile.
